For those who love the outdoors and nature, glamping is an excellent way to fulfil any craving for adventure. But what is glamping? It’s simply glamorous camping! Combining the luxuries of modern life with the rustic joys of camping, you can feel both immersed in nature and with access to hotel-style amenities. Why not come on a getaway in a bell tent?
In this article, we’ll delve into the world of bell tent staycations and explore how this unique glamping experience at West Lexham offers tranquillity, relaxation, and a boatload of fun. It is an unforgettable natural getaway perfect for families, couples, friends and dog lovers!
Glamping in a bell tent lets you experience sleeping under the stars and waking up to the gentle tones of wildlife without sacrificing your luxuries. It has all the advantages of traditional camping, without the setup and pack down. What sets a bell tent glamping experience apart from conventional camping is the amenities, as you have access to a swimming pool and boating lake, and onsite dining, in our Garden Kitchen.
The sense of adventure that can be found staying in a bell tent makes for a unique staycation for families. From playing in the fresh air, swimming in our lake, toasting marshmallows over the firepit and staying up late under the stars, the whole family can step away from their devices and directly into nature. Staying at West Lexham also provides the added extras that elevate it from traditional camping, including proper beds to tuck the children up in, running hot water to wash away a day of exploring, and access to our cafe.
Nestled in the beautiful Norfolk countryside, our bell tent experiences provide the perfect dog-friendly holiday so you and your four-legged friend can enjoy a holiday together. We love seeing dogs exploring the estate, but commonly with other dog-friendly holiday destinations, we ask that they are on leads in communal areas and around the site due to nesting birds.
There’s just something special about spending some quality time with that special someone, far away from the distractions of modern life and immersed in the peace of the Norfolk countryside. Laying underneath your bell tent’s fairy lights in plush cosy bedding, wandering through our gorgeous woodland or sitting together by the fire pit, is a beautiful way to relax and reconnect with your loved one.
At West Lexham, your home away from home could be lakeside or in the woodlands, as our bell tents are set in our beautiful 21-acre estate. Our site is designed with sustainability at its heart and can sleep up to 4 people, with additional mattresses available. You have a dedicated washhouse with eco-toiletries, a woodchip biomass boiler powering the heating and hot water, and electrical points in the main buildings powered by solar panels. All our electrical goods are highly efficient, and our taps and shower heads are primarily water-saving. Our bell tents are styled with soft bedding, fairy lights, and decorated with upcycled furniture, embodying our ethos to reuse, rebuild and recycle. As you wander our tranquil grounds, you will spot many details repurposed from a former life. Also, get lost in activities that will get you immersed in nature, from exploring our woodland abundant with wildlife, boating and wild swimming in our lake, roasting marshmallows over our firepit, to eating delicious food in our Garden Kitchen which uses ingredients from our very own garden, and so much more!
Whether planning a romantic getaway or a family long-weekend break, a bell tent holiday can offer an unforgettable experience that will create memories to last a lifetime. In the heart of Norfolk, West Lexham offers a stunning tranquil location perfect for getting away from it all. Surrounded by woodland, pristine lakes, and rolling countryside, you can relax, unwind, and enjoy quality time with your loved ones. And with our wide range of activities, from boating to yoga, and sustainable amenities, we elevate your holiday away from a usual camping trip.
