The Solstice Samskara Journey with Becky Duncan
One of my favourite Sanskrit words is Lila, meaning “cosmic play”.
In a yoga practice, there’s something incredibly humbling about being able to have fun and explore and I like to encourage this concept throughout my classes as a way to find freedom, self discovery and joy! After all, yoga is all about connecting your outer to your innermost self. My aim is to create an entire experience and practice of ‘mindfulness through movement’ by journeying the physical asanas and transitions into breath centred movement and meditation.
I truly value and understand the importance of finding space and reconnection in life which is well considered in my classes, workshops and retreats to allow students to deepen their yoga practice.
Summer Solstice is an auspicious time to revere the Sun, align the body & mind with positive energy and embrace the nature, there is no better place to absorb natures cosmic energy than at West Lexham.
We will be in a beautiful eco-friendly country manor estate, sustainably run on over 90% renewable energy with quirky rooms and a lovely, dedicated yoga space, not far from the North Norfolk Coast.
On our Samskara Retreat, the sweet combination of yoga, nature and mindfulness gives us space to recognise the groove patterns we’ve created in our lives, so we can begin the journey of breaking out of habits that don’t serve us. We will be waking up with uplifting flows in the morning and nurturing ourselves with restorative and gentle yoga in the evenings, including a Gong Sound Bath and added early morning meditations.
My wonderful colleague Dawn, a Thai massage therapist, will have her own therapy room where you will be able to book massages separately during your stay.
