As a Kitchen Assistant, you are effectively the engine room of the kitchen. Working under the guidance of the chef team, your job is to ensure that the kitchen is clean and operational. You will also be involved in preparing ingredients, so it’s a great stepping stone to becoming a chef.
The Kitchen Assistant will be a crucial role in the smooth running of the whole kitchen operation. You will learn the importance of health, hygiene, organisation and attention to detail, whilst also garnering good kitchen and food preparation experience.
We will also provide you with training to attain your Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, while helping you on to the first rungs of becoming a chef.
Pay: National Living wage
Hours: 25 hours a week
Shifts: Day time straight shifts with some evenings and weekends – no split shifts

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic, washing equipment and making sure they are stored appropriately
- Organising ingredients in the correct, hygienic manner
- Preparing ingredients for the chefs
- Responsible for the disposal of rubbish, organising linen laundry, cleaning floors and other kitchen areas
